Position Overview:
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be a vital member of the Senior Management Team, providing strategic financial management support and advice. Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), you will have primary responsibility for overseeing all financial activities within the organisation. Your focus will be on planning, implementing, managing, and controlling financial operations, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and contributing to the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Lead the financial strategy and provide financial oversight for the entire organisation.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and implement financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning to ensure financial goals are met.
- Accounting Oversight: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting processes and financial reporting.
- Job Costing & Analysis: Provide detailed job costing analysis, ensuring effective and efficient use of financial resources across projects and programs.
- Investor & Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with private and institutional investors, providing regular updates on financial performance and strategic initiatives.
- System Compliance & Controls: Ensure that all financial systems are compliant with relevant regulations and policies. Monitor and implement improvements to internal financial systems and controls.
- Financial Improvement: Drive ongoing financial improvement initiatives aimed at increasing financial efficiency and sustainability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other senior leaders and departments, offering financial advice and recommendations that align with organisational goals and objectives.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within a complex, multi-faceted organisation or regional community development setting.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, strategic analysis, budgeting, and accounting.
- Strong ability to manage and analyse job costing and financial data for diverse programs and services.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with a variety of stakeholders, including institutional investors.
- In-depth knowledge of financial systems, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance and and be CPA Qualified.
Working Arrangements:
This is a casual labour hire arrangement offering a competitive hourly rate of $94.88 per hour. The role is based in Darwin, NT, working within a supportive and dynamic team environment.
