We're Recruiting: A Coordinator Reconciliation

Full Time | Based in Darwin, NT

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and passionate professional to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) within a dynamic, values-driven organisation.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, driving strategic change, and supporting culturally inclusive practices across a diverse organisation. You will play a central role in coordinating reconciliation initiatives that influence community development, cultural inclusion, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, evaluation, and ongoing development of the organisation’s RAP in line with Reconciliation Australia’s framework.
  • Support internal teams in achieving RAP deliverables and foster a culture of reconciliation across all departments.
  • Coordinate and support advisory groups, including a RAP Advisory Committee, internal implementation group, and First Nations staff network.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations, with a focus on local cultural protocols.
  • Organise and lead key events such as NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week.
  • Deliver workshops, learning initiatives, and presentations to support cultural awareness and organisational growth.
  • Collaborate with HR and policy teams to improve workplace inclusivity and First Nations recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Support communication efforts to promote reconciliation initiatives both internally and externally.

What We’re Looking For

You are a confident communicator and skilled coordinator who can balance strategic oversight with practical, on-the-ground implementation. You have demonstrated experience working respectfully with First Nations communities and can lead cross-functional initiatives with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Level 6

  • Certificate IV in cultural or community development or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar role
  • NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • Class C Driver’s Licence (or ability to obtain)

Level 7

  • Diploma-level qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. community development, education, sociology) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years managing complex community or cultural projects
  • NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • Class C Driver’s Licence (or ability to obtain)
